Fashion is the one world where boredom has never found me. Trends come and go, silhouettes shift, colours cycle in and out with the seasons; but the act of choosing what to wear? That never stops feeling fun. It’s play, expression and identity all rolled into one. There’s something so addictive about finding new ways to wear and pair things I already love, how one small change can make an old dress feel brand new again.
Starting In the Stitch felt natural. I needed a place to talk about the accessories I keep reaching for, the pieces I adore, the details I obsess over and the trends I think are worth watching (or skipping). Here, I break down everything from new collections and runway moments to designer drops, collabs, and the fashion industry at large. My wardrobe isn’t the biggest, but it’s full of things that genuinely feel like me. A mix of designer, thrifted and high-street pieces, I don’t care where something comes from as long as it speaks to me. Every item earns its place in my trousseau because of its colour, cut or originality.

Looking through my clothing really does feel like flipping through chapters of my life. I can mark the years by the colours I thought suited me, the styles I experimented with, the phases where I lived in baggy layers because I felt overwhelmed or unsure. As a teenager, fashion didn’t feel like it was ‘for’ me, I hid in oversized hoodies, printed tees, joggers and trainers because it felt safer than trying. But part of finding your style is letting yourself get it wrong. You need the flopped outfits to understand what actually works.
Growing up, my mum was such an amazing influence. She always dressed so well, so thoughtfully, her wardrobe perfectly curated in a way that felt effortless. A lot of my favourite pieces today are things I inherited from her. Seeing how she styled herself made me want to learn how to pair things, how to balance colours, how designers build a look from sketch to runway. Once I let myself explore, the whole world of fashion opened up like an oyster.

At twenty-four, I gravitate toward fitted pieces and softer silhouettes; dresses and skirts feel the most “me.” I’ve always loved neutrals, black, brown, ivory, cream, but I’m a prints girl at heart. Polka dots, tartan, florals, they all sneak their way in. Lace will always be one of my forever favourites; pearls too. I’m also hugely drawn to anything vintage-coded Victorian, Edwardian, that whole romantic, old-world influence. It shows up in my love for structured bodices, delicate trims, and anything that feels like it has a story stitched into it.
When I want something sharper or more modern, I’m inspired by J-fashion, Vivienne Westwood, and the elegance of brands like Chanel and Dior. And if I do colour, it’s usually deeper tones: crimson, emerald, rich coral or mustard. I also own a few powder blue pieces even though I’m more drawn to deeper hues, there’s something so timeless about that shade.

So that’s my wardrobe as it is today, memories, habits, and little experiments stitched together. That’s exactly what I hope In the Stitch becomes: my own corner of the internet where I can slow down, think about fashion properly, explore what’s new, and share my opinions and whatever knowledge I pick up along the way. And honestly? It’s just nice to finally put these thoughts somewhere other than my Notes app.
In style, always,
The Stitcher
